In this guide, we'll highlight why each of the required photos plays a crucial role in the successful onboarding of your MOVUS sensors.
The photos displayed on your Dashboard are more than just visual enhancements—they’re vital for ensuring safety, accurately locating sensors, and validating onboarding data.
For every sensor, we ask that you capture four key photos:
- Overall Photo
- Sensor Photo
- Equipment Nameplate Photo
- Motor Nameplate Photo
Why These Photos Matter:
1. Overall Photo
The Overall Photo provides essential information about potential hazards near the installed MOVUS sensors, such as elevated platforms, rotating elements, or slippery surfaces. This photo also shows where the FitMachine is installed, ensuring that you and your team know exactly where to find the sensor and what dangers to avoid.
When paired with the Notes field on your Dashboard, these photos become a critical tool for maintaining personnel safety. The Notes field can be found on the equipment details page—simply click Edit, and a Notes field will appear under Site Details. Use this field to record specific observations or instructions related to the equipment or installation area.
Example:
This photo clearly shows the location of the FitMachine and highlights a low clearance hazard. With this information, your team can approach the area safely and be aware of any risks.
2. FitMachine Photo
Good quality photos can also assist MOVUS technicians in identifying any installation issues that could prevent your sensor from collecting accurate data.
To ensure your sensors are installed for optimal data collection, refer to our FitPower or FitMachine Installation guides. Without clear photos, MOVUS technicians may not be able to help you identify these potential issues.
Example:
This close-up shows the FitMachine with the MAC address clearly visible, which is essential for verifying that the sensor is correctly associated with the right equipment.
3. Equipment Nameplate Photo
The Equipment Nameplate Photo helps validate the onboarding data entered and provides equipment-specific details. A clear photo of your equipment’s model number can also assist in retrieving additional data that might not be available on the nameplate.
4. Motor Nameplate Photo
Similarly, the Asset Nameplate Photo is crucial for capturing detailed information that may not be easily accessible otherwise. These photos can provide valuable insights for ongoing equipment monitoring and maintenance.
What to Avoid: Bad Photos
- Poor Overall View [Image One Left]
This photo fails as an Overall View because the hazards are not identifiable, and the FitMachine is difficult to locate. - Unreadable MAC Address [Image Two Middle]
As a FitMachine photo, this image is ineffective because the MAC Address is unreadable, making it impossible to verify the sensor’s identity. - Unclear Nameplate [Image Three Right]
This photo doesn’t capture the nameplate clearly, providing no useful information for onboarding or equipment monitoring.
A Note About Missing Images
If you haven't included photos during onboarding, you can always upload them later by editing the equipment details page. Learn how to edit the equipment details page.
By ensuring that each of your photos is clear and comprehensive, you can enhance the accuracy of your sensor onboarding process, safeguard your personnel, and help maintain the integrity of your equipment data. High-quality photos are not just an extra step—they’re an essential part of your MOVUS smart monitoring success.
