This article explains how to change your personal notification and user preferences.
How can it help you?
Updating your account preferences helps you ensure your FitMachine system is set up to best suit you.
How does it work?
Step 1
Once logged in to your dashboard, access your User Profile Page by clicking the "Me" button in the top right-hand corner of the page.
Step 2
On this page, click the drop-down menu next to the 'Edit' and 'Equipment' buttons and select "Update preferences".
Step 3
Within this page, you can update your notification, notification centre and user preferences, and your alarm channel subscriptions.
Notification Preferences: The four notification options include receiving the daily email, alarm channel notifications via email, alarm channel notifications via SMS, and mentions via email. To get the most out of your system, we recommend turning on daily emails, alarm emails and mentions.
Notification Centre Preferences: Here you can manage what appears in your notification centre (bell icon). You can choose whether or not you'd like to be notified of alarms from the alarm channels you are subscribed to, non-reporting equipment, or times you have been mentioned in alarm comments.
User Preferences: Within user preferences, you can specify your preferred units of measure. You can choose between:
- Metric (vibration: mm/s, temperature: °C, equipment power rating: kW, inferred power: kWh)
- US (vibration: in/s, temperature: °F, equipment power rating: hp, inferred power: kWh)
This section also outlines your display timezone and date/time format. However, these cannot be changed.
Alarm Channel Subscriptions: Here you can select which alarm channels you would like to be subscribed to, and receive notifications for. This is explained in greater detail in our article What are Alarm Channels?
To make changes, please click on the relevant checkboxes and press the Update button at the bottom of the page. If you do not click 'Update', your changes will not be saved.
What else should I look at?
